Deploying a common process and document management tool throughout BP’s North Sea Wells Teams.

The Brief

To revitalise this existing drilling software system and re-position it as a more valuable Process and Document Management tool for the North Sea Wells Teams.

The Result

The successful delivery of this project resulted in adoption of a common structure by all the North Sea Wells Teams, and a consistent working practice which met the requirements of BP’s common process.

Clear management support for the system evolved and a much more positive attitude to the system was developed amongst the Wells teams.

Tangible benefits included significant cost reduction and improved time management.

Cost reduction which corresponded to the time reduction by engineers searching for data or re-working existing documentation.

Better time-management due to the inbuilt process management and task list functionality which more clearly defines accountability for deliverables and milestone tasks.
